Reading Art & Physics:parallel visions in space time and light, by Leonard Shlain, I came to a passage written by Teilhard de Chardin which says something like:’Art represents the furthest advance around man’s growing energy, the area in which nascent truths condense, take on their first form, and become animate, before they are definitively formulated and assimilated. This is the effective function and role of art in the general economy of evolution. Art is the singular harbinger of universal mind”.

Our society needs art today more than ever, yet it is least valued by most. Art is beauty. Beauty’s great purpose is to be pointless / useless. Beauty’s lack of function has the power to remove us out of context and provide experience available no where else. One should possess Art.

AOW answers

The Airbrush that I use and sell is the Grex Genesis-XS, sidecup brush with a .3 mm nozzle. It is a great all around brush and comparable to the Iwata HP-CH. I sell the XS for $149, the addition of the G-MAC (micro air control valve) for $30 makes it the same quality and better value than the HP-CH at $210. If you have more than one brush (I like to use two-one for dark paint and one for light paint) then the G-MAC is interchangeable, making the XS an even better value. I also own an HP-CH and can honestly say that the XS is comparable.

The AOW colorkit:

More important than the brush is the paint. There are many brushes on the market that will get the job done but only one paint brand that is designed for wood, E’tac. I sell a complete color line. The alternatives on the market (Golden, Media, Createx and others) were designed for Illustrators. They are good paints but not for wood. E’tac has the highest color fast rating and best resiliency of all available products. It’s been around for more than 30 years so it’s proven. The paint comes in one ounce bottles for $4.98 each.

Color Kit: 12 colors (1-Oz bottles) full mix potential, plus Extend-Air, Condition-Air 8×10 Color Wheel, 10mixing cups/caps, Mixstixs, Bowlbrush, Tipbrush, Eraser, Knife , $120 value Retail $99.

E’tac combines the best of both worlds: The colors spray as smooth and silky as solvent based urethanes. Yet they are water based, non toxic and they conform to ASTM D 4236 compliance standards. Contrary to other water based paints, there is virtually no tip dry and a much smoother flow. These unique properties ensure maximum performance and superior control, also with fine detail airbrushes with small nozzle openings.

E’tac pigments are the finest of quality with regards to purity, strength and performance. All colors are extremely light fast which makes them ideal for application on wood art
